Summer Dance Concert to Feature New Works by Local Recording Artist in a First-of-Its-Kind Collaborative Effort

Jacksonville, FL (June 9, 2016) — CooperMorgan Dance Theatre and ProfessorClock Records recording artist, Damien Lamar is thrilled to present a full-length interpretative dance theatre performance featuring 16 newly choreographed works. Under the direction of Directors and Founders, DeWitt Cooper III and Savery Morgan, this one-night only concert, entitled THE PROFESSORCLOCK TRILOGY will be performed by local professional dancers and visiting guest artists at LaVilla School of the Arts, 501 N. Davis Street, Jacksonville FL on Friday June 24, 2016 at 7:30PM. Performance Tickets are $20 for general admission, $30 for VIP, $15 for students, senior citizens, and LaVilla faculty & staff. “CooperMorgan Dance has always embraced the spirit of collaboration especially among the artists based in the Jacksonville community. This year’s concert is no different,” said the company’s choreographer and co-director, Savery Morgan. “We find it not only beneficial to work with them, but we recognize there is almost a sense of kinship by collaborating with this level of talent we have in our own backyard.”

This year’s showcase will feature a brand new work that pushes the boundaries of dance through a first-of-its-kind sound design experience featuring original electronic music by singer & multi-instrumentalist, Damien Lamar. Attendees will be aesthetically moved by a futuristic tale of time travel to the City of Spark and the fictional story of Professor Emit Clock.

At 6:30 pm, a pre-show reception will be held at LaVilla School of the Arts where CooperMorgan Dance will honor this year’s CooperMorgan Honors honorees, nationally-recognized dance instructor Dr. Phyllis Penney and women’s empowerment philanthropist and English professor, Mrs. Debbie Lee-Rouse.

ProfessorClock Records is an independent and open-genre record label founded in 2010 by multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and ASCAP writer/publisher member, Damien Lamar. The recording of THE PROFESSORCLOCK TRILOGY began in fall of 2011 and was created using an iPad, a mixer and sound editing tools. To date, the project is currently three volumes offering the audible story of “professor:clock”, a fictional character and time traveler whose story begins around 330 B.C .
